I'm Henry Myers - a developer and the father of 3 amazing little boys. As you can probably tell, I don't have any actual art training, but I like to think that I make up for that with enthusiasm!

A mustachey interpretation of Magritte's classic! I loved this piece until I tried to write 🤦♂️ From now on, I'll be replacing text with squiggly lines. At least I got to practice light & shadow a bit!
Although Bob Ross' technique doesn't involve acrylics or a mustache, I though it would be fun to try. With his guidance, I learned more than ever and painted my favorite piece yet.
Realizing previously that details are quite hard to do with a mustache, I chose a subject that only required broad strokes. Ironically, it was while painting this that I figured out how to make finer lines.
After mentioning my past mustache painting attempts at work, my boss asked jokingly if I could make something for our new office. That weekend, I tried reproducing our logo. The gradient was oddly satisfying to paint.

Once again, the winner of a Movember raffle got to choose a subject for me to paint. They requested Magritte's "Le fils de l'homme". Much more detailed than my previous subjects, this one was significantly harder to paint by mustache.
As a prize in a Movember fundraising raffle, I offered to paint the winner a subject of their choice. Edvard Munch's famous work was selected, and although extremely skeptical at first, I was particularly pleased by how it turned out.
My first attempt at mustache painting, as requested by a friend. The result was of poor quality, but still managed to raise money for the cause by being auctioned off.
From cancers to mental health issues like depression and post-traumatic stress disorder, I grew up watching the men in my life cope with various conditions. During high school, 2 of my seemingly happy peers committed suicide. Still, it took me well into my twenties to start wondering why the guys around me - and myself - weren't talking about these issues.
I now have 3 boys of my own, and I would love for them to grow up in a world where men openly discuss their health and dare to reach out for help when they need it. That’s why I support Movember.
